Four students of a famous school in Kampala were arrested by the police when they were drinking alcohol and smoking beedi in the forest behind the school at around 9 am.
It has been revealed that these students have appeared in the higher level examination this time.
The students who came to Kampala on Monday during the school holiday bought a bottle of liquor from one of the liquor shops in the city and bought peanuts and beedi from another shop.
After this, the investigation revealed that Kampala went to the forest behind the school near the Vikuluvatta ground and consumed alcohol.
Police arrested the students while they were smoking beedi after emptying the liquor bottle within half an hour.
The students were taken to Kampala police station and their parents were summoned and handed over to them.
Kampala Police Station Officer-in-Charge Laxiri Fernando has advised parents to keep a close eye on what their children do during holidays.
Parents have said that their children have come from home saying that they have to study extra classes and subjects for the exam this time.
Pointing out that there is danger of school students becoming addicted to drugs in the country, the officer in charge of the police station issued a stern warning and handed over the students to their parents.

இந்த மாணவர்கள் இம்முறை உயர் தரப்பரீட்சைக்கு தோற்ற உள்ளவர்கள் என தெரியவந்துள்ளது. திங்கள் கிழமை பாடசாலை விடுமுறை நாளில் கம்பளை நகருக்கு வந்துள்ள இந்த மாணவர்கள் நகரில் உள்ள மதுபான விற்பனை நிலையம் ஒன்றில் ஒரு போத்தல் சாராயத்தை கொள்வனவு செய்துள்ளதுடன் மற்றைய கடையொன்றில் கடலை மற்றும் பீடி ஆகியவற்றை கொள்வனவு செய்துள்ளனர்.
இதனையடுத்து கம்பளை விகுலுவத்த மைதானத்திற்கு அருகில் உள்ள பாடசாலைக்கு பின்னால் உள்ள காட்டுக்குள் சென்று மது அருந்தி உள்ளதாக விசாரணைகளில் தெரியவந்துள்ளது.
அரை மணி நேரத்தில் சாராய போத்தை காலி செய்து விட்டு, பீடி புகைத்து கொண்டிருந்த போதே பொலிஸார், மாணவர்களை கைது செய்துள்ளனர். கம்பளை பொலிஸ் நிலையத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லப்பட்ட மாணவர்கள், பெற்றோர் வரவழைக்கப்பட்டு அவர்களிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
விடுமுறை நாட்களில் பிள்ளைகள் என்ன செய்கின்றனர் என்பது குறித்து பெற்றோர் உன்னிப்பாக அவதானிக்க வேண்டும் என கம்பளை பொலிஸ் நிலைய பொறுப்பதிகாரி லக்சிறி பெர்னாண்டோ பெற்றோருக்கு அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளார்.
இம்முறை பரீட்சைக்காக மேலதிக வகுப்பு மற்றும் பாடங்களை படிக்க வேண்டும் எனக்கூறி தமது பிள்ளைகள் வீட்டில் இருந்து வந்ததாக பெற்றோர் கூறியுள்ளனர்.
நாட்டில் பாடசாலை மாணவர்கள் போதைப் பொருளுக்கு அடிமையாகும் அனர்த்தம் இருப்பதாக சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ள பொலிஸ் நிலைய பொறுப்பதிகாரி, கடுமையாக எச்சரித்து மாணவர்களை பெற்றோரிடம் ஒப்படைத்துள்ளார்.
